TOTAL 5'620 trees

On the 8th of july 2008, we hweld a council to organize the
beginning of the work. The ones responsible for the project had already
bought the necessary tools and materials.

Preparation of the nursery started on july 9 and took us a few weeks.
We started with the creation of large covered areas where we placed
the little bags filled with good earth from the forest, the famous
TERRA PRETA of the Amazon.

It is in this time also that we go around the forest to collect seeds, among
others the seeds of andiroba açaí, cupuaçu, laranja, jambo and abacate.

Irrigation is then organized: every week 2 different persons
are in charge of watering the nursery, so the whole community
share this responsibility.

Here small copaiba, a very valuable medicinal and spiritual tree.

Avocado seedlings in front and andiroba seedlings in the back ...

... and germonated seeds of cumaru.

The clearing work goes on through september and october,
then in december we are ready for the planting season.

In early December, we organize the distribution
of seedlings per family and we prepare for planting.

The accounting is explained to the whole community and approved by all.

On December 21, at the solstice,
we made a ritual for the plants, where we invited a few tourists guests.

Then, on December 22, 2008 we started to plant.
And we programmed the plantation so that it would end on the day of the anniversary of the village, on January 14, 2009.
