UFPA students with Chief Orlando Munduruku

One day in the forest with students from the Federal University of Para on februray 7 2009

9 biology students from the UFPA campus in Santarem came to visit the Munduruku indigenous reforestation project and helped plant new seedlings during one day.

It was a good experience as much due to the fruitful botanical exchanges of views and techniques as of human and intercultural contacts which are rare at this level between white people and indigenous tribes .

One first needs to dig holes with appropriate tools.

Then one must bring the seedlings and take away the plastic bag...

...and plant it in the ground carefully.

You then repeat this operation during the whole day in the lines previously cleared in the bush by the Munduruku.

Of course, the teacher is the one to show the example
