Houses are, in almost all the villages and in particular in those concerned by the project, Brazilian style, wooden with a roof of zinc or of tile, each sheltering a family.
These houses, introduced by the FUNAI, are in fact much less healthy than traditional houses, of which it remain today only a few. The Suruí wish to return to their traditional architecture in the future.
The problem is that the materials that are necessary for their construction are missing near the villages (due to past deforestation).
The majority of the 25 Surui villages are now connected to the rural electric network.
