HEALTH
The Suruí suffer from a lack of local assistance at the level of health in the villages.
So every health problem requires a journey to the city, which often implies a movement of several members of the family, who are confronted there with city integration problems.
Furthermore, the replacement of sources of traditional food by food bought in city creates an impoverishment and an imbalance in the alimentation (lack of vitamin and proteins) which, particularly to populations little accustomed to these deficiencies, easily provokes chronic diseases (notably malnutrition of the children and difficulty to being cured of disorder currently treated but chronic such as tuberculosis).
