ASSISTANCE TO THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF THE AMAZON FACING COVID 19

In partnership with

The new Coronavirus pandemic is affecting everyone, and currently the indigenous peoples of Amazonia are among the most vulnerable.

This is why, with your help, we will be able to distribute baskets of staple foods to many villages of indigenous peoples of the Amazon in Brazil.

Aquaverde is in partnership with the Kanindé Association to deliver emergency aid to several indigenous peoples in Brazil, namely in the states of Rondonia, Acre and Amazonas, among which are the Uru-eu-wau-wau, Juma, Paiter Suruí, Cinta Larga, Kwasar, Apurina, Kaxariri, Gaviao, Arara and Karitiana peoples.  The Kanindé Association works to defend the ethno-environment of these peoples.

THE KANINDE ASSOCIATION

The Kanindé Association for the defense of the ethno-environment is a public interest organization founded in 1992.  It is located in the heart of the brasilian Amazon, based in Porto Velho, Rondonia, and it also operates in other states such as Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Para etc.

Since its inception, it has worked with dozens of ethnic groups on projects which range from surveillance courses and training, to reforestation and teaching indigenous firefighting agents.  Along with indigenous peoples, Kanindé is leading the the way for the protection and development of the Amazon and its forest tribes!

The Kaninde association and Aquaverde have been partners since 2006.
